Even though the rain caused many of the events to be canceled Thursday, it was still a productive day for Elizabethton and Happy Valley athletes as the Cyclones hosted a meet at LaPorte Track.

Elizabethton senior Lauren Pilkton was in typical form as she took first place in both the girls’ 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. In the 1,600, Pilkton crossed the finish line with a time of 6:08.57, while recording a time of 12:05.76 in the 3,200.

On the boys’ side of the track, Happy Valley’s Matthew Bahn didn’t have any trouble picking up first in the boys’ 100-meter dash. With a time of 11.90 seconds, Bahn topped David Crockett’s Ronquille Joyner who took second at 12.13. Happy Valley’s Josh Hyatt finished in third (12.49) while Elizabethton’s Tyler Smith took fourth (12.94).

In the boys’ 1,600-meter run, Elizabethton’s Nicholas Street (5:03.10) took second behind University School’s Porter Bradley (4:57.79).

EHS’s William Newman took second in the boys’ 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:24.78 while David Crockett’s Bryson Livesay finished first at 11:03.54.

Another notable finish was Zachary Lombardo’s third-place finish in the boys’ 200-meter dash. Elizabethton’s Isaac Norris finished fourth with a time of 28.00.
