Hi! I'm a proud mom of 3 grown kids, 3 dogs, and 2 cats. My family and I moved here from Ohio in 2002, where I worked as a freelance writer for print media and websites. In 2003, I began working as a school librarian, and I haven't looked back! When I'm not reading, my free time is spent enjoying the outdoors with my family or playing with our many pets. While we still cheer for the Buckeyes, I have Orange & Black Cyclone blood running through my veins now!

What do we do in library class?
Each homeroom class has a 45-minute scheduled time in the library each week. Students return books and we review what we've read, then talk about their reading progress. The remaining time is spent on a library skills lesson that coordinates with their classroom learning. This may include a read aloud, a STEM project, a writing activity, or research time. We reserve time during each class for students to select new books and free reading. Students are encouraged to come to the library at any time, even if it's not their regular library time, so they can keep fresh books in their hands!
