Hello!
My name is Amy Tapp and I teach 3rd grade at Harold McCormick Elementary School. I am going into my 8th year of teaching for the 2019-2020 school year. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Milligan College with a Minor in Music. I enjoy singing, cooking, reading, running, walking and riding bikes on the Tweetsie Trail! My family includes my husband, Tim, our daughter, Carrie and husband Tyler, and our 1 year old granddaughter, Ava, and our son, John, who is completing his sophomore year at ETSU.
I'm thankful to be in the field of education and teaching students the foundational skills of reading and writing. Reading and writing are two essential elements that must be intentionally taught and developed in the early grades in order for students to be ready to enter the workforce or to be on or above college level by the time they graduate from high school. Therefore, it is very important that your child reads at least 20 minutes every day on his or her reading level. I am looking forward to a new year of teaching!
