On Friday, September 28, East Side Elementary celebrated their Triad-a-thon!  Students were challenged to raise money through donations to support the PTAC organization.

As part of the celebrations, students participated in a walk-a-thon, read-a-thon and share-a-thon. The Read-a-thon portion of the day was to promote the school-wide goal for literacy and the joy of learning through reading. The Share-a-thon gave students the opportunity to give back to the community.

Each grade level chose a community service project to say “thank you” for all of the support the school received with this fundraiser. The projects this year included letters to soldiers, collecting supplies for the local animal shelter, and a school grounds clean-up.

The students also enjoyed the opportunity to play on inflatables and enjoy a picnic lunch with their class.  The event was a success and the students raised over $14,000 which will be used for new technology and other school improvement projects. Thank you to the families and community members who supported this event.
