Community Involvement Program

Swim Club News!

The Swim Club is going to take the Fall and Winter months OFF to evaluate and possibly restructure the program.  We are considering changing from a 12-month program to a 5-month program that runs from March through July.  We are currently evaluating what it costs to run the program and coming up with a fee structure.  There will be more information to come at the beginning of 2018.  The last regular Swim Club practice will be on Friday July 28, 2017.  All questions or concerns should be directed to Carrie Taylor, Community Involvement Director.  Thank You!

General Info

The Community Involvement Program was created by Elizabethton City School staff with the goal of providing affordable exercise opportunities for community members living in and around Elizabethton. Currently, Water Aerobics classes and Typhoons Swim Club are offered weekly at ECS facilities for anyone interested, regardless of affiliation with ECS. A lifeguard is on duty at all classes and practices. Both programs take place at the Elizabethton High School Pool at 907 Jason Witten Way in Elizabethton.

Dressing room is available, and doors open 15 minutes before class begins. Eat a light snack before you come. Drink plenty of water. You may also want to bring some “water shoes” (inexpensive clean tennis shoes will do) to gain more traction on the pool bottom. A bathing suit might come in handy... or shorts and a t-shirt will do.
